Beginner
This 5-week series is designed for students new to yoga or students wishing to brush up on their knowledge of yoga fundamentals. You will leave this series having experienced postures and breathing techniques frequently used in any of Samudra’s classes, allowing a smooth transition to Anusara, Basic, Intermediate or Vinyasa Flow classes. This is our only Series class, so please pre-register. No drop-ins.
Basic
Our Basic class is for students who would like to focus on refining basic postures and breath work while building strength, stamina and flexibility. This is a great class to try after taking our Beginner series or for those students looking for a more gentle practice.
Vinyasa Flow
Start your morning right with some invigorating vinyasa! Postures flow from pose to pose linked by breath and movement. Leave class energized and ready for your day. Mixed level class.
Mixed Level
Though not for absolute beginners, all other students are welcome in this mixed level class. Options for modifying postures are given to allow everyone to work at their own ability level.
Stiff White Guys Yoga
OK. . . maybe you’re not white, and maybe you’re not a guy, but if you are stiff like a white guy, this is your class. Perfect for people who think that they are not flexible enough to do yoga. Join other flexibility-challenged students for a class that will focus on gently opening up those especially tight places, like the low back, hips and shoulders.
Pre-Natal
Specially designed for mothers-to-be, this class adapts traditional yoga postures to meet the needs of pregnant women. In this class you will strengthen your body for pregnancy and labor while learning how to deeply relax and let go of some of the stresses that go along with your changing body and emotions.
Seniors Gentle Yoga
Gentle yoga is suitable for everyone at any age, but the benefits are especially great for seniors, because the older we get, the more yoga has to offer. In this class, chairs and other props are used as the student gains strength, balance and flexibility.
Restorative
Join us on the second Friday of every month for some relaxation and renewal. In this class, bolsters, blocks and blankets are used to passively position you in postures that are held for several minutes. You reap all the benefits of the pose while allowing your body and mind to completely relax and restore. A perfect antidote to a too-busy life.
Post-Natal Mommy and Baby Yoga
Yoga is an excellent way to restore and rejuvenate after baby arrives and to connect with other new moms and their babies. Mamas are guided through stretching, re-toning and strengthening poses, designed to integrate joyful bonding time with their babies. This class is very accommodating as moms are encouraged to nurse, change diapers, and soothe babies as necessary. There will be time at the end of class to relax and connect with other new moms in a warm supportive environment. For babies 6 weeks to almost walking. |
